Lightweight Digital Security While Online

The Lightweight Portable Security System may or may not be a security methodology you will find useful, but it is not well known and you may want to see whether it works for you. It is a US government (Air Force) creation that is available to the public in PC or Mac versions. It boots a thin Linux operating system from a CD or USB flash drive without using a local hard drive. Administrator privileges are not required; nothing is installed. No trace of work activity (or malware) is written to the computer or the system your computer is working from. Everything disappears when you close down. This security methodology was created to address particular cases. The system seems to be updated quarterly but there are no patches. When a new system is available you download the complete new file. The Lightweight Portable System is a safer, general-purpose, solution for accessing web-based applications.
